Customer Is Usually Right
I was delighted to sell one of my preliminary canvases during last weekend’s Artists At Home event.
It was one of my studies for the painting ‘Memento Mori’, when I was nearly at the stage were I was ready to start the final painting. I was testing out which two colours of the spectrum to use on the edges of the bubbles for each strand of the Coney family (each bubble represents a different member of the family.)
They were rather roughly painted on what was otherwise a rather delicate little study. The buyer indicated that she would be happy for these to be painted out and I was able to oblige.
