Ted Coney’s Family Portraits is a pop-up gallery in Ely in Cambridgeshire which opens on Sunday afternoons and other times by appointment. There is also a Virtual Tour in relation to some of Ted’s work.
Original Oil Paintings
A group of over forty original paintings, produced by artist, Ted Coney on the theme of family life and family relationships. Most of the oil paintings are on canvas, though there are some examples of painting on glass, wood and Ivorene.
Ted Coney, Artist and Teacher
Ted Coney studied Painting and Printmaking at Bath Academy of Art in the 1960s and has been making works about family life for fifty years. He was Head of Art and Design at Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge for over thirty years and Head of Art at St Andrews College, running the Foundation Course for twelve years.
Ted’s paintings, objects and installations have often appeared in mixed shows and open studios and a retrospective at the Babylon Gallery in Ely. However, this is the first time that all his work has been exhibited together.
