Only Part Time

I hope to keep cycling for many years to come. I’ve just had a new dynamo fitted to keep me safe after dark as I do seem to use my bike nearly every day.

However, it can sometimes be part of my pop-up gallery or even a subject for my work. When I am open, I use the bike to hold one of my poster boards so that visitors know where to come.

I produced a painting in 2016 entitled ‘Bicycle Thieves’ when my machine took centre stage. A couple of years later both the bike and the painting where displayed in our local art gallery in an exhibition entitled ‘Art Opposites’. Sometimes I needed to borrow the bike for shopping or work trips. This surprised visitors who maybe thought I was stealing one of the exhibits and even more astonished when I brought it back!
