Jump aboard the fun at Aquafest
Thousands of people are expected to descend on Ely’s Riverside for the city’s Aquafest on Sunday, July 3.
Dozens of flamboyant rafts will take to the River Great Ouse for the annual raft race while families cheer them on from the riverbank.
There will also be dancing, singing, craft stalls, children’s games, charity stalls and history re-enactments on Lavender Green, Jubilee Gardens and the Maltings Green to keep revellers of all ages entertained.
The event, organised by the Rotary Clubs of Ely, will be raising cash for local charities.
A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Ely said: “Aquafest is one of Ely’s biggest community events and we are hoping the public will support us.”
The event will run from 11am until 5pm.
Ely artist Ted Coney will be showing off his Morris Minor, which turns 80 this summer.
