Costumes With Meaning

I was interested in the Sharman’s costume exhibited in the ‘Assembling Bodies’ show, where the objects which made up the robe were linked to the life and history of the culture. (see photos in my latest Instagram and Facebook posts)

In my painting, ‘Forged In Life’ which is currently in preparation, I wanted to find  symbols to decorate the cloaks of both brothers to show their effect on climate change. For me ( represented by Mr Turnip) I used the swing boats – a rather superficial piece of equipment used solely foe pleasure.
