Artist Ted’s open house invitation

An Ely artist will open his home to the public for the fourth time.

Ted Coney is inviting visitors to his 300-year-old cottage in Ely for visitors to see paintings produced over the last 40 years on the theme of family life and relationships.

Visitors will get the chance to see Mr Coney’s studio and view his current work in progress.

His most recent painting Another Year, still a work in progress, is of four members of his family.

Mr Coney uses Ely Cathedral as a central image in his work. To symbolise birth and death he captures the play of light on its walls at dawn and dusk to represent the beginning and end of life.
