Ted shuts the door on tours until spring

Visitors can see a successful Ely artist’s work once more before his tours close for Christmas.

After another successful season showing visitors paintings in his home in Waterside, based on family life and family relationships, Ted Coney is doing his last tour on December 11.

One of his works – Limners, painted in 1990 – shows 37 days over the Christmas period and each painting has its own set of doors, which are opened like an advent calendar.

Ted said: “I always miss talking to people about my work, though it does give me a chance to get more painting done.”

Ted will reopen his tours with fresh material in April.
