Together At Last

Although I used the image of Ely Cathedral for my painting of 2011 – ‘Another Year’ it’s really about something quite different.

The dusk falling over this iconic building represents the deaths of my mother and sister-in-law within a week of each other and the dawn coming up, symbolises the births of two new family members a year later. My granddaughter and great niece were born within a month of each other and I’ve long wanted to get a photo of them together with the painting but never managed  it until now. They both live in different countries.

You can now see them with the painting on my latest Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky posts.
