Ted Coney Family Portraits

Local artist, Ted Coney was to have opened his pop-up gallery in April for its 12th Season but because of the pandemic this has had to be postponed. He usually gives guided tours around his house in Ely and shows some of the paintings he has been making for over fifty years. All the paintings have the theme of family life and he also shows some of the objects, ephemera and photographs which have inspired them.

This year he is promoting his Virtual Tour at a cost of 99p for a nine minute film with all proceeds going to the NHS Charities Together appeal, until the end of the year. It is available from his website.

In one of the four paintings shown, he ‘flies’ back in time in his 1931 Morris Minor to 1930s Hollywood to research one of his ancestors.
