On This Day

On this day in 1990 I opened the door of my painting I had just completed and called ‘Limners’. Inside was a picture of a blow-up birthday cake my son, Leo had been given.

The painting consists of 37 such images which are personal to my family and can be opened from 1st December rather like an advent calendar. Why 37 I can hear you say? They represent the 24 days of Advent, Christmas Day and the 12 days of Christmas.

At other times of the year when I am doing guided tours, all the doors are open together so the entire painting can be viewed.
