Never To Old

I was quite excited the other week when I thought I might have interested a gallery into giving me another exhibition. They said how much they liked my work and we were beginning to plan how we might make it happen.

It was only in the second Email that they let slip that it would cost me £750 a week to show there! As I don’t sell the final paintings I had to explain that there was no way I could justify the expense.

The chap still seemed enthusiastic and wondered what else I might offer in leu of payment. I was able to show  evidence that I could do many things to promote the exhibition such as being artist in residence, giving talks, running workshops etc.

Maybe when they looked at my CV and realised I was over eighty they decided not to call back?!
