Getting Ahead Of Myself

Taking advantage of staying with my son and grandson again , I did another study of the latter’s toy guns for a painting I hope to make in 2027 entitled ‘Twas The Night Before’.

This time, I wrapped the objects in Christmas paper . For the study I tried watercolour, but in the final painting I will use oils. I’m thinking of overlaying the guns with translucent paint so that the toys show through the wrapping . However, I also photographed them with the paper half torn off, so this is another idea to explore eventually.
