Artist to open home to public

An Ely artist will open his home to the public for the fourth time.

Ted Coney is inviting visitors to his 300-year-old cottage to see paintings produced over the last 40 years on the theme of family life and relationships.

Guests will get the chance to see Mr Coney’s studio and view his current work in progress.

His most recent painting Another Year, still under construction, is of four members of his family.

Mr Coney uses Ely Cathedral as a central image in his work and to symbolise birth and death he captures the play of light on the walls of the cathedral at dawn and dusk to show the beginning and end of life.
